Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager of Manufacturing is responsible for developing and leading a high caliber manufacturing team consisting of manufacturing supervisors, leads, process technicians, set-up technicians, material handlers and machine operators. The manager will oversee injection molding and packaging operations to ensure production schedules are met, costs are within budget, quality is maintained, morale is supported and associates are working in a safe manner.

Successfully execute the daily production schedule developed by the planning/scheduling function meeting on-time, undamaged and complete shipment requirements.
Analyze performance and proactively intervene to meet or exceed budget and KPIs including labor, machine and material efficiency / usage.
Manage plant floor layouts and work cell designs to optimize space, work flow, 5S, production values and safety. Make recommendations for policy and process improvements.
Respond and resolve daily issues including material outages, machine downtime, operator performance and scheduling.
Set high standards for quality, safety and service. Manage these items to meet Company objectives.
Maintain and continuously improve business processes for quality, safety, manufacturing. Monitor WIP inventory to ensure proper levels.
Ensure that production reporting is done accurately for the department.
Partner with Human Resources to resolve safety, labor and employee relations matters.
Work closely with sales/marketing regarding the production of samples.
Work closely with Product Development and Engineering to ensure a smooth introduction of new products to the plant.

Engineering Degree required with 7-10 years experience of active engagement and participation in manufacturing floor team initiatives in a high volume injection molding environment
Improvement driven leadership
GD&T applied through demonstrated use of AutoCAD / SolidWorks or ProE
Strong math, qualitative, and formalized problem solving skills (PDCA, DMAIC)
Lean Manufacturing or “TPS” training or Certification a plus
Strong user in JD Edwards, SAP or other business system database
Deep understanding of Scientific Injection Molding (Decoupled or Corrective viscosity molding.
Familiarity with workplace ergonomics and best practices
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics (electrical, mechanical/hydraulic)
Experience in reading and reviewing financial statements.
