Provide leadership and daily direction to all manufacturing departments. Ensure compliance to all company policies and procedures. Responsible for all manufacturing related activities in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost control. Establish and maintain a culture of empowerment and continuous improvement.
Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provide clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventative actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).
Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
Direct all manufacturing functions of the plant to ensure the most effective return on assets
Interact regularly with Operations Frontline Leaders and production employees to provide direction and leadership.
Understand and fully utilize all ISO procedures.
Provide leadership and adequate resources to support site quality systems.
Ensure compliance to all site quality policies and procedures.
Support regional quality standard systems for commercialization, SPC, and preventive and corrective action.
Ensure budget and financial forecasts are developed and met.
Partner with Finance function to provide accurate operational information and establish product costs and update standard assumptions
Partner with the Supply Chain function to ensure timely, effective and efficient procurement, planning, inventory levels and delivery of finished goods.
Partner with the Human Resources function to ensure effective management of human capital.
Participate in long term strategic planning involving the optimum utilization of company assets and human resources.
Through leveraged knowledge of current technology and market trends, participates in the definition of advanced products required to sustain a cost effective competitive position.
Responsible for driving the full implementation of cost improvement programs to consistently maintain a cost competitive edge in the manufacturing of products.
Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital.
Ensure compliance with all government regulatory requirements.
Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance and process excellence
Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving and cost reduction.
Ensure effective labor utilization within departments to allow for maximum return on labor investment.
Manage spending against budget and in relation to production volume
Establish management practices in departments to encourage employees' positive involvement, with the opportunity for constructive input and action
Conduct operations meetings and periodic plant communications meetings. Ensure effective communication with all employees.
Responsible for directing planning process to drive continuous improvement activities in the departments.
Supports operational excellence effort for the departments.
Prepare and present annual budget to senior management.
Responsible for training and development for the departments.
Direct or support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades
Supervise/manage direct reports (including decision-making for hiring, promotion and discharge).
May lead or participate in regional or global projects
Provide backup for Plant Manager
