Manufacturing Engineering Manager– Central Illinois Operations

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a key member of the local Leadership team and is responsible for leading Engineering service delivery to meet and exceed external and internal customer expectations.? The role will align and deliver out strategic objectives for our growth plan.? The role will lead and drive key initiatives within the service teams and influence individual performance by greater management focus.? Enhanced business performance will result because of the position's influence into each direct report's performance and driving Engineering results through set goals and objectives.? The position will provide a forum for sharing business improvement and implementing best working practices within the operation.? The position will report to the Plant Manager. Additionally, this person will provide supervisory oversight to local Engineering talent.?

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plans and directs implementation of equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques and production yields for existing products; drives the manufacturing engineering technology
  • Acts as engineering liaison with product design and development to ensure processes and designs are compatible.? Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, planning and scheduling to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, cost and schedule
  • Oversees the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products
  • Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs
  • Acts as liaison with engineering in releasing new products
  • Develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
  • Ensuring best practices are effectively communicated and implemented across division processes

Required Qualifications/?Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s is a plus.
  • Must have a Machining Background (lathes, mills, robotics, etc. )
  • 10+?years progressive Engineeringexperience in a manufacturing environment
  • Past experience leading an Engineering team
  • Knowledge of CNC equipment in metal working environment; machining and automated assembly (high-volume machining is a plus)
  • Good Project Management experience and ability to present status
  • Working knowledge of Lean
  • Knowledge of routings and labor standards
  • Knowledge of plant layout drawings
  • Ability to perform cell design
  • Ability to conceptualize or design
  • High Safety IQ
  • Knowledge of advanced process control to impact quality
  • Should understanding of programming
  • Good critical thinking skills
  • Sense of urgency and high energy
  • Low Ego/?High results personality with ability to coach
