Job Description

Client is hiring a Manufacturing & Engineering (M&E) IT Systems Analyst to be located at the Charleston, Tennessee plant.

This is a Corporate IT position focused primarily in SmartPlant application disciplines supporting global M&E business and IT organizations

The M&E IT Systems Analyst contributes specialized, technical knowledge and coordinates planning and execution of tasks associated with maintenance, support, and enhancement of one or more of the SmartPlant Applications in-use across the corporation. This position provides support to the end-user to install, tune, and use the application(s); provides troubleshooting for user devices, systems, applications, and communications links, as necessary, to ensure stability, integrity and efficient operation of the M&E Information Systems.

Essential Functions/Basic Duties:

  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, customizes, and modifies SmartPlant applications
  • Coaches the end-user in troubleshooting or using application functionality
  • Troubleshoots application related problems in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Monitors ticket system and addresses issues reported by the end-user community
  • Coordinates patching of applications with the team and application users
  • Stays informed on the critical issues to address from application user groups and helps to define the required timing for resolution of critical issues
  • Installs, configures and supports enhancements to current applications
  • Works closely with business partners and consultants to expand application use to in-scope global sites
  • Supports input and guidance for accurate and helpful training for the user community for enhancements, upgrades, and other changes to the current application functionality
  • Provides input for developing and maintaining training documentation for application users
  • Provides excellent customer service and feedback on the status of issues or requests


Essential Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree*; Information Systems or technical degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Process Automation disciplines strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree must be completed by June 1, 2018
  • Minimum 1-2years related information systems and/or manufacturing and engineering systems experience; position level contingent on experience
  • High learning agility with desire to build on existing knowledge foundation
  • Proven problem-solver
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to work in team oriented, collaborative environment
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)


Demonstrated working knowledge of one or more of the following:

  • Engineering drawing management systems
  • Network and PC operating systems
  • Current network hardware, protocols and standards
  • End-user support
  • Database management
  • Creating and maintaining system documentation
