Job Description

Client is hiring a Manufacturing & Engineering (IT) Systems Analyst to be located at the Houston, Texas office. This is a Corporate IT position focused on applications used in manufacturing operations while supporting global M&E business and IT organizations.  The M&E IT Systems Analyst coordinates planning and execution of tasks associated with maintenance, support, and enhancement of one or more of the Manufacturing Applications in-use across the company. The IT Systems Analyst provides support to the end-user to install, tune, and use the application(s); provides troubleshooting for user devices, systems, applications, and communications links, as necessary, to ensure stability, integrity and efficient operation of the M&E Information Systems.

Essential Functions/Basic Duties:

  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, customizes, and modifies manufacturing applications
  • Coaches the end-user in troubleshooting or using application functionality
  • Troubleshoots application related computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Coordinates patching of applications with the team and application users
  • Stays informed on the critical issues to address from application user groups and helps to define the required timing for resolution of critical issues
  • Supports enhancements to current applications
  • Supports input and guidance for accurate and helpful training for the user community for enhancements, upgrades, and other changes to the current application functionality
  • Provides input for developing and maintaining training documentation for application users
  • Monitors and addresses issues reported by the end-user community
  • Provides excellent customer service and feedback on the status of issues


Essential Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree*; Information Systems or technical degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Process Automation disciplines strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5years related information systems and/or manufacturing systems experience
  • Progressive experience in several areas of manufacturing information technology/operational technology with a focus on application support
  • Experience overseeing the processes to patch and upgrade applications
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of manufacturing applications that support business operations with specific focus on MES and process historian technologysupport including Aspen IP.21 and OSlsoft Pl
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in one or more manufacturing applications
  • Technical I Programming Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language

  • Must be able to obtain a TransportationWorker Identification Card (TWIC)


Demonstrated working knowledge of one or more of the following:

  • Process Historians
  • Interfaces with Distributed Control Systems
  • Interfaces with SAP and with LIMS
  • Familiarity with production reporting typically performed at chemical facilities
