Overview

The Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer will be involved in Application, Production, Sustaining, and New Product Development Engineering. This position provides limited support for field sales personnel; manufacturing and marketing of automated pump stations and filter systems.

Responsibilities

  • Produce fabrication approval (customer sign off) drawings
  • Publish complete production prints and Bills-of-Material for assemblies
  • Publish assembly and installation instructions for manufacturing personnel, installation contractors, service providers, and customers
  • Participate in cost savings initiatives in coordination with Buyer/Planner staff
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve productivity and profitability
  • Support production personnel by promptly answering design questions
  • Continue to improve personal technical expertise and ability
  • Accurately select, specify and quote automated irrigation pump and filter packaged systems
  • Any additional duties assigned by the Engineering Supervisor

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in an Engineering field
  • 5years of experience drafting 3-D assemblies and producing 2-D production prints in SolidWorks by integrating existing libraries and modeling new components
  • Successful track record of Achievements
  • Ability to learn quickly and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Safety conscious
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time greater than 2 hours
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs using proper lifting technique
  • Team oriented individual

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • A positive attitude and “can do” spirit
  • Experience with 3-phase low voltage (<600VAC) power systems
  • Experience with pump and motor applications
  • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
  • Proven ability to successfully launch new products
  • Lean manufacturing or Leansix sigmaexperience
