The Manufacturing Engineer will provide the technical manufacturing liaison required for the production of high quality products from the design phase through all phases of production between the Program, Procurement, Assembly, and Quality Departments to promote an efficient and well organized manufacturing operation. Experience with Assembly machining and 5axis grinding, and machining highly desirable.

Qualifications / Education / Experience
•Chair cross-functional NPI reviews to ensure the product design lends itself to practical, economical manufacturing techniques. •Review customer engineering design drawings for compatibility with “state-of-the-art” manufacturing processes. •Coordinates with the Methods and Tooling groups and provides the technical product or specification drawing interpretations required for the design and fabrication of tools, fixtures, and process methods instructions. •Define Statistical Process Control Key features, monitor CpK and perform necessary process improvement. •Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and takes an active role in the dispositioning of discrepant components and assemblies. •Provides manufacturing assembly floor and machine tool cell layouts required to promote an efficient flow of product through the various manufacturing processes. •Conducts any special manufacturing projects, evaluations or surveys as directed by management. •Assumes a lead technical role in make/buy evaluations. •Monitors day to day production activities for complex machining / manufacturing processes and makes recommendations on material and/or labor reductions to promote efficiency of operation. •Serves as mentor to lower level engineers. •Effective organization, prioritization and time management interpersonal skills. •Supports a 24/7 global business operation as required. •Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. •Understands and uses continuous improvement tools. •Participates in lean activities with complete documentation including a follow up with the team in a presentation format. •Demonstrates the ability to solve and document complex cross departmental issues using structured problem solving tools. •Able to travel up to 20% of time including day, overnight or international travel as required. 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience with complex technical projects; 3+ years experience leading technical projects and cross functional strategic initiatives Experience with Aerospace machining and 5axis grinding highly desirable.
4 year engineering or technical degree required.
