JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manufacturing Engineer will interface with hourly associates, engineers, department leaders, maintenance and controls/automation technicians, quality technicians, tool makers, office associates, etc.

The scope of this position includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and improve high volume, precision machining processes
  • Design and procure mechanical components and assemblies, workholding fixturing, cutting tools and gages
  • Hands-on troubleshooting of machine and process failures
  • Lead and implement process improvement events, significantly contributing to cost reduction initiatives
  • Seek out and develop lower cost, higher quality alternatives to current manufacturing methods
  • Manage capital equipment from requisition through procurement to installation
  • Lead multiple projects to include development of schedule, resources, and budget
  • Assist in developing and implementing equipment safety upgrades
  • Perform make vs. buy analyses for production components and tooling/fixturing
  • Manage purchases from entry through receipt

Work with product design engineering, marketing, operations and quality assurance to implement new or improve existing products, utilizing tools such as Six Sigma, DOE, FMEA, and DFA/DFM

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Minimum five years related experience
  • Extensiveexperience in the following areas:
    • Precision mechanical machinery
    • Machining principles
    • Cutting tooling
    • Workholding fixturing
    • Metrology and Gaging
    • Mechanical design and assembly
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • PTC Creo or equivalent solid modeling design
    • Lean methodology
    • Project management
    • Equipment maintenance
    • PLCs, general Controls/Automation
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with time and resource constraints
  • Strong teamwork and internal customer-relation skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within teams
