Pratt and Whitney Digital Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Applications and Controls Engineer.
This will be an onsite position supporting the manufacturing shop floor utilizing the latest state-of-the-art technology in aerospace manufacturing at our North Berwick, Maine plant facilities.
What You Will Do:
The Digital Technology Application Engineer is responsible for the development, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both custom-built and commercial off-the-shelf manufacturing applications.
This role supports critical shop floor systems, including machine tool HMI interfaces, manufacturing tracking and prioritization tools, process data consolidation, reporting and visualization platforms, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop custom business applications to collect, analyze, and report operational data critical to plant performance.
- Monitor application performance; troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues as needed.
- Enhance and modify existing applications to support new compliance requirements and evolving business needs.
- Modernize legacy applications by converting them to current technologies (e.g., Visual Basic to VB.NET).
- Design / Support HMI/SCADA interfaces for shop floor machine tools.
- Basic troubleshooting of PLC control systems.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- An advanced degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience; OR a Bachelors degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with 10 years of project management experience; OR in lieu of a degree, 12+ years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with programming languages such as .NET, Java, or Python.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, with a solid understanding of manufacturing principles.
- Basic understanding of ethernet networks and port forwarding.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience with documenting technical systems.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to manage priorities independently.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to work onsite at the designated location in North Berwick, ME.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with the Ignition platform by Inductive Automation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Access .
- Experience with machine tool control networking and/or DNC applications.
- Experience extracting and manipulating data from Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Proficy iFix programming / Troubleshooting.
- Exposure to PLC / HMI / SCADA programming.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
