The Position

This role will work with the Executive Management of  Arch Reinsurance Company (ARC) in order to oversee the successful development of the supporting operations that ARC manages on behalf of Watford Insurance, affiliate in the United States. These supporting Operations that ARC manages are still under various levels of development, as Watford Insurance just started writing business in 2016. A successful candidate will have to be able to coordinate and leverage ARC's existing resources including Compliance, IT, Claims and Finance to service Programs insurance business written on both an admitted and non-admitted basis.


Job Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and execute operational strategies that align with corporate priorities and mission to achieve business objectives
  • Provide day-to-day leadership into the development and implementation of the servicing capabilities that ARC is procuring on behalf of Watford Insurance
  • Evaluate and manage the need for additional resources, in-house and/or third party procured
  • Interact with Watford Insurance Management Team
  • Collaborate with other Arch entities to leverage share knowledge and best practices 
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of internal processes
  • Ensures timely, accurate and complete reporting on operating efficiencies/conditions and recommends plans, policies, and/or structural changes to facilitate the achievement of corporate goals


Desired Skills

  • Broad knowledge of Insurance Operations including Systems, Compliance and Regulatory Requirements, Financial Reporting and Claims Management
  • Proven experience in examining and/or re-enginerring operations and procedures
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to work in a start-up environment
  • Excellent business judgement and strategic decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across organizational structures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects and teams

Required Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related-field, MBA preferred
  • 10 + years of progressive executive experience, preferably with an insurance carrier
