The Bank’s Lending Products & Strategy team is responsible for:

  • Managing and developing profitable credit products that foster increased loyalty and contribution from our clients
  • Driving profit improvement and revenue growth through sales channels, marketing programs, and cost controls
  • Fostering an excellent end-to-end lending experience
  • Tracking and measuring product performance and program effectiveness

What you’ll do:

Home Lending is an integral component to the Bank’s growth plan. As such, this role will be responsible for leading Home Lending product and integration efforts. The Director of Loan Product Management will be responsible for:

  • Driving the strategic vision for Schwab's Home Lending Products group by proactively identifying opportunities to increase production, improve product penetration and the lending experience for clients, field and advisors
  • Leading programs with cross-functional partners such as Bank Sales, Client Experience, Marketing, Legal, and Client Web Services on marketing strategy, client experience process improvements, and product launches
  • Providing analytical support of the Mortgage and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) products for various Bank teams and partners (support includes portfolio analysis, trending and forecasting) and identifying trends and opportunities from provided data
  • Development of a multi-year roadmap for the Mortgage and HELOC products
  • Actively participating on project teams to represent the Bank Lending Product team

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in Home Lending, ideally as a Product Manager for 1st Home Mortgages and HELOC required
  • Prior staff management experiencepreferred
  • Home Lending experience at a large financial institution preferred
  • Highly client-oriented with demonstrated product management, program leadership and implementation experience
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and apply them to the business
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to synthesize data, develop recommendations, influence partners and report on status, deliver presentations
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and work efficiently in a matrixed environment
  • Passion to drive growth and acquisition strategies
  • Creative thought to drive retention and line utilization

  2. A bias for action and the ability to overcome obstacles and successfully execute on multiple projects simultaneously in a self-directed environment
  3. Strong leadership skills - the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and gain support of cross-functional partners to execute on product plans and marketing initiatives
