Job Title: Managing Director – Education (nonprofit)

 

Job Location: Dallas, TX

 

Job Status: Full Time

 

Pay Rate: 150, annually (negotiable based upon experience)

 

Job Summary

 

Our nonprofit foundation is looking for an experienced Managing Director who has a genuine passion for helping kids and young adults achieve success. This position requires a polished and tenacious individual, with a background in education, to thoroughly evaluate and improve our processes. The Managing Director will be instrumental in the development of ongoing relationships with students to ensure they are receiving assistance, guidance, and support for not only the duration of the program, but in the years beyond.

In addition to working in the office, the Managing Director will be an active member of the community and spend a great deal of time networking and attending events outside of work. This is an opportunity to take an active role in a meaningful program that helps the children of today become the leaders of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

·     Confer with teaching, administrative, and private curriculum to plan and implement a program designed to meet the needs of our students

·     Visit classroom to observe effectiveness of instructional methods and materials

·     Evaluate classroom instructional techniques and suggest methods for improvement

·     Establish and maintain relationships with colleges, community organizations, and other schools to coordinate educational services

·     Generate revenue and foundation interest through networking and engaging potential donors

·     Confer with Federal, State, and local school officials to develop programs and curricula and establish guidelines for the facility's academic and social education programs

·     Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and selection of educational personnel

·     Prepare budget requests for educational programs, orders school supplies, and prepare records and reports

·     Conduct follow-up studies to evaluate the effectiveness of academic and social education programs

·     Formulate plans and policies for educational programming

·     Maximize efficiency and productivity of the organization with an emphasis on studentretention and success

·     Advise facility administration on implementation of applicable State and Federal programs and procedures

·     Annually prepare and submit a comprehensive budget

 

Qualifications

·     Master’s degree from a university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)

·     Must hold a Principal Certificate or the equivalent issued by the TEA or another state or country

·     Four (4) years of secondary or teaching experience

·     Excellent oral and written communication skills

·     Thorough knowledge of educational philosophies and practices

·     Effective supervisory skills for a small team of executive/senior coordinators

·     Knowledge and experienceworking with kids (5th Grade – 12th Grade)
