We are currently seeking a Managing Consultant with prior healthcare strategy consulting experience in a payer/provider environment to participate in a variety of master facility planning, ambulatory network planning, strategic, financial and operational planning projects. The successful candidate will:

  • Manage significant client engagements and day-to-day relationships
  • Oversee, mentor and develop senior consultants and analysts
  • Execute client deliverables, including synthesizing the strategic, financial and operational implications of analyses
  • Assist where necessary with data acquisition, integration and analysis to support a wide range of payer and provider analytics including financial analysis, clinical and operational benchmarking
  • Regularly present results and updates to clients, effectively communicating strategies and tactics through verbal and written forms to create buy-in and support
  • Proactively initiate and develop industry and market-based analysis of healthcare trends, competitor threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance trends
  • Supervise strategic planning, business intelligence and consulting team, ensuring the high quality, accurate information and data, translating the data into meaningful information
  • Project focus would be diverse but requires expertise in master facility planning, ambulatory network planning and/or real estate advisory expertise
  • Assist in the development of market-based or hospital-based growth strategies


  • Master's degree in business, management, health policy and administration required
  • 5+ years of previous work experience in a healthcare consulting firm or a combination of healthcare industry and consulting experience
  • Previous multi-facility provider strategic planning experience and/or healthcare strategy management consulting experience preferred
  • Experience conducting research and analysis required to support the master planning process, including utilization forecasts, capacity analysis and in-migration/outmigration studies
  • Provider-side experience in a health system, hospital and/or medical group
  • Solid background in broad-based provider financial modeling
  • Project and/or program management experience
  • Capacity to manage multiple work streams, meet deadlines and drive results under pressure
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent quantitative analysis and research skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Track record of efficiency, flexibility, creative problem-solving, self-motivation and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within team structures
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and excitement toward promoting Navigant's growing healthcare practice
  • The ability to travel up to 75%
