Job Description

Cerner’s IP Platform Development team is seeking a Lead Engineering Manager to manage associates enhancing and developing the platform for various solutions. In this role, you will oversee engineering teams and own accountability for the design, development, and quality of components, applications, solutions and systems. In addition, you will be responsible for creating technical vision and strategy for the organization that aligns with Cerner’s business objectives.

As a leader within engineering you will develop long-term technical roadmaps to determine continual revenue and/or cost optimization strategies. Along with creating technical visions, you will develop associates through coaching performance, completing performance reviews, goal setting and development planning.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 7 years of software engineering work experience
  • At least 4 years of people management work experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing complex, large scale, cross organization projects
  • Experience with Agile, DevOps and SRE


Expectations

  • Must be residing in or willing to relocate to the Kansas City metro area
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
