Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the supervision of the SafetyDirect web team, their deliverables and customer requests. This role requires in-depth technical expertise as well as leadership experience to lead a team of full-stack .NET developers, Mobile Developers, DevOps, DBAs, QA engineers and customer support engineers. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with both local and remote teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Personnel Management – including talent acquisition, mentorship, coaching, one-on-ones and career development
  • Project Management – including customer requirements, release planning, agile ceremonies and customer support
  • Project Delivery – including product to cloud migration, mobile application launch, an implementation of CI/CD
  • Leadership – Collaborate with business leaders, customers and stakeholders on behalf of the team to identify new features, products, timelines and areas of improvement

Knowledge:

  • Depth of technical experience with various layers within development including Web, Applications, Services and Databases
  • Demonstrated leadership with strong cross-functional influence/interpersonal skills, drive for success / winning attitude; take ownership and deliver on objectives / milestones
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and manage conflicts, both internal and external
  • Ability to develop and use early warning indicators and other analytical tools for situation assessment or changing conditions, draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Strong ability in establishing milestones, project planning and implementation (execution skills) while meeting commitments; able to prioritize, schedule, and plan; anticipate obstacles and manage risks in multicultural, internationally diverse and matrixed environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; capable of formal and informal discussions at all levels of the business, customer, and supplier organizations; has a professional presence; recognizes the importance of networking and a positive working relationship; willingness to learn and share knowledge; values the diversity of ideas

Experience:

  • Experience in leading and managing a team of highly technical and creative individuals
  • Familiar with web and mobile device products and integration / business aspects of mobile services

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
  • 5+ years' experience in an SW Engineering/Engineering leadership role
