The Tenet Manager of Value Based Programs will work directly with participating physicians, physician group practices (PGPs), contracted vendors and key stakeholders to accelerate hospitals’ success in CMS bundled payment programs. Manager will be responsible for forming, growing and maintaining successful long-term relationships with stakeholder individuals and business entities (including physicians, physician group practices, medical groups, naviHealth, McKinsey), for reporting on program performance, identifying and implementing critical program strategies, and for organizing and leading local program meetings with hospital and/or physicians to advance program engagement and adoption of clinical best practices, while striving to improve overall patient care.
Note: Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI) Advanced Program is a 6-year CMS Value-Based program designed to improve patient care while reducing overall expenditures.
•Identifies and recruits appropriate and applicable physicians/PGPs to participate in hospital’s BPCI program
•Provides hospital and health system’s senior leadership with monthly and quarterly program results
•Manages local vendor relationships and related communications/action plan priorities
•Holds monthly and quarterly multistakeholder forums and JOCs for each hospital’s unique clinical episodes
•Develops physician and patient-oriented marketing materials. Maintains and distributes materials describing the services available to relevant stakeholders
•Monitors, measures, and distributes BPCI Advanced performance monthly reports to physicians during one-on-one physician meetings
•Serves as the primary contact for physician inquiries relative to the health system’s services and bundled clinical episodes
•Provides ongoing education to physicians regarding BPCI preoperative and postoperative care redesign initiatives
•Monitors and tracks market activity that will assist in ongoing evaluation of the BPCI Advanced or other value based program strategy, related proforma and business planning
•Creates transparent and clear communications messaging strategy
•Identifies barriers to physician BPCI performance and physician program satisfaction and engaged necessary stakeholders to developments strategic action plan to improve outcomes
•Assists applicable specialist physicians in the training of health system’s population health, referral management tools and technology
•Collaborates with local Chief Strategy Officer and/or Director of Business Development to improve service line participation and value proposition
•Maintains cooperative working relationships with physicians, vendors, program partners, and hospital administration.
•Engages physicians/PGPs in a timely manner
•Participates with review, assessment, development and implementation for other value based programs
•Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
•A minimum of five years or relative work history and experience in hospital network development, value-based program operations, clinical operations, post-acute operations or history of extensive physician engagement.
