You will join a highly collaborative and engaging environment, working as part of an agile and dynamic team. Our group is hands-on, focused on results, and spends as much time in the field as in the engineering lab. We are seeking a talented individual to build and lead a US based UX/UI Engineering team to address a wide range of Automated Driving user challenges such as Trust, Motion Sickness, Transfer of Control, Addressing, Mode Confusion, Ad Seating, AD Steering, Vehicle Motion Control (VMC), etc. This role also involves creating a range of innovative UX/UI engineering solutions to develop and deliver a holistic Automated Driving User Experience and Interface. This will involve developing Proof of Concepts (PoCs) with strategic partners. The team is required to follow a Human Centered Design (HCD) and Systems Engineering approach to shape the User Interface for Automated Driving, responsibilities will include working at both ends of the Systems “V” starting with establishing Customer Needs, Use Cases and Requirements, further down the process responsibilities also include User Interface Test and Validation work. This role is US based and you will be expected to establish regular communications with your working colleagues in both the UK and China. It is essential that all work is data driven using world class intelligence and user experiments.   

Key Performance Indicators • Build a team, Manage and Lead the Delivery of key User Experience and User Interface data driven deliverables against a Project Timeline e.g.:- o Create data-based recommendations for all key challenges i.e. Mode Confusion, Trust, ToC, Motion Sickness, Trust, Navigation, Seating, Steering, VMC, etc o Conduct all User Trials o Lead and manage all external Strategic Projects and University Projects o Develop Proof of Concepts o Establish relationships and a project portfolio with Universities o Interface to Research and receive projects from Research o Create concept FHMIs (Word) o Create concept UI Stateflow for specific ADAS features (Adobe Illustrator/Visio) o Driver Info System Document for whole vehicle ADAS UI (Adobe) o Create concept Wire Frames, Create concept Logic of Operation and user flow diagrams o Create concept Touchscreen, Cluster and HUD Graphics o Create concept Simulations (Desktop, Driving) o Interface with Design/Infotainment on Graphics o Identify best User Control options ie Hard/Soft Switches, Speech, Touchpad o Ensure compliance of UI Design with all local Standards Regulations o Concept UI System Design & Requirements o Interface with Design and Electrical especially HMI and Automated Attribute teams and User Controls and Displays team  o Feedback local validation results to System Owner o Local Benchmarking o Provide local intelligence o Interface with Suppliers and Universities o Perform other duties as required   Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities • Manage and Lead all UX/UI key Challenges • Manage and Lead all User Experience/Interface user Experiments • Manage and Lead delivery of all Proof of Concepts • Manage and Lead all University UX/UI Projects • Manage and Lead all concept Simulations and Storyboards • Manage and Lead the creation of concept UI Wire Frames  • Manage and Lead the creation of concept UI Operation and User Flow Diagrams • Manage and Lead the creation of concept Touchscreen, HUD and Instrument Cluster Graphics • Manage and Lead the creation of concept User Control options ie Hard/Soft Switches, Speech, Touchpad • Manage and Lead compliance of UI Design with all global Standards and Regulations for all new concepts • Liaise with all relevant members of the Automated Driving team and all impacted commodities to ensure all concepts can be translated into a  logical and physical design (at vehicle and commodity level) • Liaise with all the Subsystems (JLR and suppliers) responsible of the implementation of the functions for the acceptance of the concept requirements  

Knowledge, Skills and Experience  Essential:  • Experience in building and leading Engineering or Research User Experience/User Interface Design teams • Experience in UX/UI Problem solving • User Experience/User Interface Design and Human Centred Design approach • User Expereince/User Interface Design Experiments • Creating and Setting up UI Simulations • Requirements Capture & Design • Requirements management • Vehicle UI Validation concepts • Experience in automotive (or equivalent e.g. transportation, aerospace etc.) distributed systems • Degree educated in Human Factors, Psychology, Ergonomics, Engineering or industry relevant equivalent. • Design and execution of User Experiments  • Willingness to travel within the US and internationally if there is a business requirement. • Good document writing and presentation skills • Ability to work effectively within technical teams • Having a real enthusiasm for developing user experiences and user interfaces  • Excellent communications skills and a strong team player. • Problem solving (5Ds, 5Whys etc.) • Experience in delivering innovative User Interface Designs • Project Management, Team Management
