The manager, technology sourcing & vendor management is a strategic role that is responsible for managing the entirety of the technology spend with third parties – including hardware, software, professional services and contingent labor. The role will have responsibility for all aspects of the sourcing lifecycle including strategic sourcing, negotiations, procurement and vendor management.
Specific responsibilities of the role include:
Defining technology sourcing strategies for IT products, services, solutions and digital platforms aligned to business unit objectives and priorities.
Working closely with stakeholders to lead major sourcing programs.
Developing and managing a high-performance technology sourcing team responsible for supporting all technology supplier-related and sourcing-related functions.
Keeping abreast of industry trends that have an impact on the technology sourcing strategy, through external advisory services, internal vendor management teams and good working relationships with existing and emerging strategic vendors used by the enterprise.
Presenting all pertinent supplier and/or industry trends to partners and immediate management and proposing updates and improvements to existing strategies.
Successfully manages the technology procurement function along with responsibility for the related vendor management functions. This includes contract discussions with vendors and monitoring of their performance to contract specifications.
Must also be an effective change agent, working with senior leadership within the business and IT teams to drive enduring changes to how the organization sources technology. In this role, the individual will regularly interact with key IT leaders and business leaders to balance cost, risk and speed in order to ensure that the business is able to realize its objectives. The skills to influence and inspire change, combined with the drive to deliver results per the goals set, will enable the head of technology sourcing to support the rapid evolution of digital business!

Demonstrated leadership, including team leadership and organizational aptitude, in a cross-cultural environment in a job with a similar level of responsibility
Knowledgable of the global technology product and service market and its trends
Knowledge of the sources of data and analytics to support the development and execution of sourcing strategies
Good communication and stakeholder-influencing skills
Knowledgeable in financial analysis, strategy formation and business case development
A bachelor’s degree in business or other management field, such as supply chain management.
A master’s degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA), or a Juris Doctor (J.D.), is desired.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or IT, and certification by purchasing and supply chain professional bodies, such as the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS). Master's Degree preferred.
