PayPal is seeking a Manager to join its Domestic Compliance & Reporting team. This position, reporting to the Senior Manager Tax Accounting, will work collaboratively with the other members of the team, as well as PayPal’s broader tax department and finance teams, to prepare the company’s global consolidated quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations and related disclosures. In addition, this position will assist with the preparation of PayPal’s US federal and state income tax return filings.

  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations by leveraging knowledge of corporate structure, transfer pricing, and historical trends
  • Prepare FAS123R, APB23 and FIN48 tax calculations
  • Prepare tax related purchase accounting entries for acquisitions
  • Prepare tax account rollforwards and reconciliations
  • Prepare tax footnotes and related disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings 
  • Work with various groups within the tax department, finance, corporate accounting, and treasury to gather data needed to support the tax provision calculation
  • Ensure internal control processes over the tax function are properly performed and documented
  • Research various income tax accounting matters
  • Support process improvement initiatives to increase overall efficiency of the tax accounting process


  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent; CPA and/or Masters in Taxation a plus 
  • 5+ years of progressive professional experience in ASC740 income tax accounting for publicly held multinational companies; public accounting experience a plus 
  • Solid tax accounting technical skills, analytical thinker, detail orientated
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast paced environment  
  • Experience with Corptax and SAP a plus
