This position manages Aerojet Rocketdyne's (AR) Talent Management function including a team of Talent Planning and Performance Management consultants to the business, as well as the Talent Management system functionality and user support. This role is responsible for executing the AR Talent Management strategy and future road map, and will act as a consultant to the business and HR leadership, ensuring Talent and Performance needs of the business are met. The Talent Management Manager will act as an expert in Talent Review, Succession Planning and Performance Management; and will advise the larger HR team in areas of mutual impact and advances in the Talent industry in an effort to keep AR on the cutting edge of performance and developing a pipeline of leadership.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

40% - Build and lead a team of Talent Management professionals to ensure best-in-class delivery to the business.

  • Orchestrate the cycle of talent and performance, including the team workflow to incorporate collaborative deliverables, strong teamwork and innovative modalities.
  • Ensure the team is equipped to deliver valuable, future-focused approaches.
  • Provide clear roles and responsibilities and create process improvement to ensure effective solutions and efficient delivery.

40% - Act as an advisor to the business in talent assessment with the ability to influence leadership in driving the right talent and leadership solutions.

  • Serve as the main point of contact and act as a Talent and Performance expert for Business and HR leadership, developing relevant solutions, communicating changes, and socializing key projects.
  • Collaborate with HR leaders to understand talent segments and partner with the Learning team to achieve measurable results in accelerating the development of top talent.
  • Garner broad sponsorship for talent management across the business within a fast-paced direct-billing, production-focused environment.

10% - Oversee Talent and Performance reporting and data integrity.

  • Ensure appropriate reports are prepared, developed and maintained,
  • Present findings and data-driven insights to ensure high-quality, high-impact, and future-focused Talent and Performance initiatives.

10% - Ensure the Talent Management platform and employee/manager-facing functionality is compelling and user-friendly.

  • Evaluate new Talent Management functionality and features with the current system and within the industry, maintaining a working knowledge of the future of talent, and acting as a change agent for the business.


Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and nine (9) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
