Job Description:

Approves and controls day-to-day Supply Chain activities within area of responsibility. Provides leadership and direction to Supply Chain personnel, leads complex projects of a strategic nature, and is accountable for the Supply Chain team and results. Ensures effective department representation on commodity, new product development teams and other significant corporate efforts. 
 
Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Defines performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors
  2. Analyzes inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, manage fill rates, determine estimated time of arrival, reduce waste, or optimize customer service
  3. Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers and vendors
  4. Meets with suppliers and manufacturing plants to discuss performance metrics, provide performance feedback, or discuss production forecasts or changes
  5. Manages activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, vendor managedinventory, warehousing, or receiving
  6. Participates in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow
  7. May perform full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget 10. Performs other duties as assigned 

Job Skills Requirements:

  • Proficient knowledge of manufacturing, distribution, inventory, and quality procedures and management programs and systems
  • Proficient computer skills including familiarity with enterprise resource planning and business intelligence/analytics systems, Google, and MS Office applications. SAPexperience a plus
  • Comprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including demand planning, forecasting and procurement
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supplier commodity processes and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the corporation
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and make critical decisions ? Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location  
     

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience

Experience Requirements: 

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in a continuous supply chain within high volume manufacturing environment 
     

Certifications:

  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), or Six Sigma certification preferred
