Description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Finance, this position will oversee the New Product Costing Process and Gross Margin Management in the Specialty brands. The primary function of the position is to instill in brand management the profitable management of new products including a focus on SKU Rationalization and portfolio management.

Manage the New Product Costing Process in the Specialty group consisting of La Mer, Bobby Brown and Jo Malone. Liaise with brand Senior Management to launch new products that meet strategic profitability objectives.

  • Partner with the Global Marketing teams in each brand to develop accurate cost objectives for all new product launches as well as sets and limited life items. Spearhead the improvement in accuracy and timing of new product cost objectives.

  • Implement and maintain the process of having new product cost objectives developed 12-15months prior to the on-counter date and prior to Program Brief approval.

  • Provide early COG impact analyses on new products at a regional and global level and prior to any purchase commitments being made. Work closely with Marketing to improve profitability on products that don't meet corporation and brand targets.

  • Collaborate with Global Marketing and the Shared Service groups (GSR, GBSC, GBP, Product Dev., Packaging Dev., R&D, Mech. Engineering) for the purpose of achieving the lowest possible cost on new products while maintaining brand equity and innovation.

  • Perform Strategic Planning and “What if Scenarios” involving current/future year COG impacts of new product scenarios. Analyze the year over year impact of sets and limited life.

  • Develop and maintain the full year global mix-of-business analysis showing actual/projected units, sales, cost, profit and mix by category, subcategory and region.

  • Collaborate with Global Marketing and Global Business Planning on SKU rationalization for new products with the objective of maximizing portfolio profitability and mix.

  • Contribute guidance, information and analyses to the Global Brands during their annual Strategy and Plan development.

  • Assist in the automation of existing manual processes and reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
