POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of WHS Clinical Services is responsible for providing equitable access, service delivery and outcomes for youth by providing direct care, leadership and supervision that is consistent with the agency's mission, policies, and regulatory bodies. The Manager of WHS Clinical Services is responsible for assessing the competencies and job performance of the Social Workers and Interns and providing individualized supervision to promote staff development that results in trauma informed quality treatment and services.
The Manager of WHS Clinical Services interacts with administrative and treatment staff, as well as numerous outside agencies and other professionals. The Manager of WHS Clinical Services will be accountable to the Director of Education. The Manager of WHS Clinical Services is expected to maintain appropriate personal boundaries with all people while on shift. The Manager of WHS Clinical Services is expected to be sensitive to a culturally diverse population. The Manager of WHS Clinical Services will be expected to perform other related duties.
Accountable and responsible for the following results:- Acts as the Clinical Liaison with the PRTF programs and will attend and contribute to diagnostic, treatment teams, case reviews, case conferences and PPT's.
- Completes documentation within required time frames.
- Will be a Risking Connections trainer and attends Risking Connections meetings, disseminates Risking Connection information, and facilitates staff trainings.
- Will directly supervise all Whitney Hall School Social Workers.
- Assists WHS Administrators with the referral and intake process.
- Oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of direct counseling and case management services.
- Oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) framework.
- Provides direct counseling and case management services to a small caseload of students.
- Assists school administration with activities that establish and maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive school climate and culture.
- Build capacity in the department to conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and develop Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Holds weekly/monthly Clinical Social Workers meetings.
- Plans and facilitates professional development for all staff.
- Provides continuous quality improvement of STRIVE model/framework.
- Supervises Student Interns.
Minimum Qualifications & Licensure:- Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), required.
- Connecticut (SDE) Certification as a School Social Worker (Endorsement #071), required.
- At least two years' supervisory experience.
- Strong diagnostic, clinical and supervisory skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to design and implement therapeutic interventions to promote positive change.
- Knowledge of child development.
- Ability to work well independently within a treatment team philosophy. Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual preferred.
