The Manager of Sabre Systems will coordinate with the Director of PSS to lead/direct employees in matters concerning IT for Sabre PSS Systems.  The manager will collaborate with the Director of PSS to interface with the various Sabre user groups for IT solutions that will best help them grow and perform more efficiently. The manager will work from beginning to end, outlining the most effective resources and oversee projects through design, development to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead team to engage with business partners in the research, evaluation, integration, and implementation of new business initiatives
  • Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities
  • Oversee all phases of project from conception to by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Ensure project is completed within budget and on time
  • Follow PMI standards to manage projects through the project lifecycles of initiation, planning, execution and closure
  • Work with other IT groups to facilitate delivery of technology solutions for business
  • Utilize in-depth technical knowledge and business requirements to design and implement secure solutions to meet customer / client needs while protecting Hawaiian Airline’s assets
  • Manage team on facilitating investigation of production outages/problems and the subsequent restoration of service; ensure determination of root cause with plans for remediation
  • Provide effective leadership, motivation and mentoring to develop team members on managing 3rd party vendor hosted solutions and various phases of the software development life cycle
  • Provide oversight of resources located locally and remotely, and adherence to Hawaiian Airlines’ standards for security, platform and performance.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, identifying training and development requirements and plans
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 5 years of professional technical experience in systems implementation/support
  • 3 year working knowledge of airline systems, data requirements; experience in applications, Sabre Systems a plus
  • 3 years of professional experience in the management of complex systems supported by large and diverse technical staff including integration of legacy technologies, multi-platform hardware, software and databases
  • 2 years professional experience managing local and remote vendor resources including overall vendor management
  • 1 years working knowledge of SOX and PCI compliance  
  • Proven ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple projects, competing priorities and adeptly re-prioritize based on changing needs
  • Proven track record collaborating effectively with partner teams and customers, translating requirements into a product vision and roadmap
  • Successfully manage multiple projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work professionally and productively with all levels of employees in various departments
  • Ensure that accountability measures are effectively maintained and that follow up on actionable items are done in a timely manner  
  • Computer skills required (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • Flexible in work hours, including on call and available to support critical systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree or relevant certifications and professional training programs (ex., MTSC, PMP)
  • Airline domain in-depth experience – specifically PSS, GDS, Sabre Systems
  • Strong understanding of software development processes/methodologies and testing best practices
  • Strong project management and people management skills
  • General DBA and SQL skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
