PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Manager of RPS Financial Operations – Trading, Pricing, and Dividend Team, is responsible for the daily oversight and operations of the Trading and Investment Analysts, and Dividend Senior Retirement Plan Specialists.   The incumbent provides leadership, consultative coaching and direct management of the team whose main functions include analyzing and verifying financial and system information pertaining to retirement plan clients with total assets of $150 billion.

In addition, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing all dividends and pricing functions with respect to all qualified and non-qualified retirement plans serviced by RPS. This position is also accountable for meeting internal and external driven deadlines, and must ensure appropriate staffing and coverage to meet deliverables on time with 100% accuracy.

This position will be responsible for initiating, developing and implementing business strategies designed to mitigate risk and enhance client satisfaction.  The incumbent will be expected to proactively identify areas of risk and develop contingency plans to mitigate.

This position partners with and coordinates engagement from various external and internal groups, including but not limited to Outside Fund Companies,  Fund Managers, Custodians, Transfer Agents, Plan Administrators, Relationship Management, EquityTrading Desk, Mutual Fund and Trust Administration, Global Client Operations, Financial Institution Services, Global Investment and Institutional Client Services, Pricing, Marketing and Product Development, Conversions, Compliance, Legal, Client Administration, Control, Enterprise Support Services and Global Business Solutions & Technology Services.  This position fulfills the strategic goals of RPS, supporting TRP’s culture and brand strategy initiatives, championing and driving change in the organization, and developing a team of analysts to reach their highest potential. 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides oversight management of three critical functions: the Trading, Pricing, and Dividends of RPS investments.  Direct management of a team of analysts to ensure daily trading, investment set-up, pricing, and dividend processes performed by the team are completed accurately, on schedule and according to policy/procedure to avoid financialrisk and maintain service levels, including daily trading of about $300 million of multiple security types through multiple channels, both electronic and manual.  Resolves issues in situations that have not occurred before or been documented.  Ensures contingency plans are updated and invoked in the event of system delays or transmission failures to minimize financialrisks.   Develops and tracks measurements, analyzes results, trends and errors to determine team’s performance and identify potential process improvements. 

The manager will maintain a high level of communication with their direct reports, management team and associates through regular one-on-one meetings, staff meetings, coaching sessions and sit-in sessions to make team aware and focused on business priorities, report on progress, and allow associates an opportunity to provide input and feedback. The manager is responsible for creating a collaborative team dynamic that is focused on inclusive decision making, enabling open and honest dialogue. Further responsibilities include rewarding and recognizing high performing associates through the year-end evaluation process and through individual efforts creating outstanding client experiences or successful business process improvements/enhancements.  The manager is also responsible for ensuring appropriate performance management, use of development plans and applying corrective action in a consistent and fair manner. 

Provides project management and coordinates large efforts regarding dividends, investment changes, trading, and high dollar fund and plan level events, and monitors daily activities through the team progress against milestones.  Provides status updates to Lead Management and Senior RPS Leadership team regarding progress against the strategic plan to meet deadlines. 

Represents TRP to vendors, fund alliance partners, and otherfinancial institutions such as custodians, trustees, transfer agents, insurance companies and banks.  Represents RPS to groups within TRP (EquityTrading Desk, MFTA, FIS, GCO, FA, Legal, TRPO, CCG, RPS, and Conversions).  Maintains relationships with contacts to ensure both normal and contingency activities will be executed promptly to minimize financial exposure.  Drives changes throughout the organization by proactively identifying areas of risk and partnering with internal and external partners to move towards best practices.

Responsible for recruitment, selection, development and retention of Trading and Investment Analysts and Dividend Senior Retirement Plan Specialists.  Responsible for identifying developments needs and implementing strategies to improve the consultative client interaction skills of the analysts. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • College degree and 2 years of related work experience, or
  • Associatedegree and 4 years related work experience, or
  • High School diploma/equivalent and 6 years related work experience
  • Will need to be an Access Person
  • Leadership, relationship building and outstanding organizational skills
  • Possesses proven leadership competencies including strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate associates in a complex, fast moving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deepen the skillset of a large group of associates

Preferred

  • Prior experience with Trading, Investment, Pricing, or Reconciliation related activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 3-5 years of related experience is preferred
  • Experience managing in RPS Operations  is preferred
