Amazon’s Risk Management Claims team is seeking a talented individual to support our rapidly growing and evolving auto program. The ideal candidate will be familiar with commercial auto policies, have experience with leading a team, and have a history of success in process improvement. They will partner with key stakeholders to dig deep into the business challenges and develop solutions. They will use data and metrics to propose program enhancements and modify standards as needed to improve our ability to scale. They will be comfortable presenting issues and proposed solutions to all levels of leadership through superior written and verbal communication skills.
In this role, the Manager - Risk Management and Claims will use their expertise in auto liability and insurance, excellent analytical skills, and outstanding business acumen. They will know and love our customers (internal and external) and will work backward from the customer’s needs to create best in class processes. They are a trusted partner to our business operations and will leverage that trust to create excellent outcomes.
Key job responsibilities
• Manage team of professional claims handlers.
• Clearly define and uphold performance standards based on organizational and team goals.
• Oversight of strategy and action plans for bodily injury claims.
• Effectively communicate recommended risk mitigation strategies to cross-functional and internal leadership teams.
• Field and address business partners on-going questions and issues related to claims evaluations and resolutions.
• Identify opportunities for improvements across the entire auto claims program and all lines of business.
• Participate in projects that move the program forward, including projects to develop new innovative solutions.
• Partner with external vendors and partners on innovative claims handling and initiatives that support simplicity and contain costs while enhancing the customer experience.
• Attend mediations and trials as needed.
• Available for travel up to 25% of the time.

Virtual Location - USA
· BA/BS degree from an accredited university.
· 6+ years' experience with auto policies or liability claim management.
· 2+ years’ program management or similar experience.
· MBA or other advanced degree.
· ARM, AIC, CPCU, or similar designation.
· Subject matter expertise in commercial auto insurance policies.
· Experience with tools like Tableau, QuickSight, and SmartSheet.
· Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of leadership.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $198,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
