Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee team members in the execution of revenue activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of invoices and appropriate application of Iron Mountain Data Center (IMDC) revenue recognition policies and policies to ensure compliance for Iron Mountain’s REIT status.

  • Assist and the development of business requirements, selection, and implementation of any new systems used to support the quote to revenue to cash processes.

  • Execute on deliverables supporting the timely integration of revenue reporting and billing processes of acquired entities into the appropriate systems.

  • Deliver and maintain meaningful internal and external reporting and dashboards to help manage the business and present analysis to executive management and for external reporting (e.g. rent rolls, renewal reporting, straight-line analysis, WALE, DSO, etc.)

  • Manage research and resolution of billing issues; coordinating internally and externally with Sales, Operations, and Shared Services

  • Ensure month-end close of AR sub ledger and trade receivables is complete.

  • Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deliverables, including all required analysis, memos, and audit-related documentation on a timely basis

  • Assist in the project plan to implement ASC 606 and be responsible for billing and revenue recognition requirements of the new revenue recognition standard

  • Manage cash application and collections for acquisitions prior to integration of those processes with our shared service center when applicable.

  • Maintain internal control processes and ensure compliance

  • Recommend and drive value-adding changes and efficiencies through systems and process improvement; coordinating with IT and IMDC business teams to perform testing and validation

  • Support due diligence and integration planning and reviews

  • Recommend bad debt reserves, credit memo reserves, and any deferred revenue related reserve requirements.

  • Manage critical, exception, and high value revenue and billing processes

  • Support resolution of internal and external auditor reviews

  • Supervise activities and development of assigned team members (1 to 2)

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate/graduate degree in Accounting and/or Finance or a MBA.

  • CPApreferred

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in related revenue/billing operational positions

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience is requested;

  • Prior experience working and excelling in multi-location, business-services organization is preferred

  • Experience with enterprise-wide applications, accounting, reporting and billing systems (such as Oracle and Hyperion), is required and experience with multinational companies and a shared accounting service center is a definite plus.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition principles

  • Knowledge of real estate, property management, and/or data center order to invoice processes

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to build relationships across a business

  • High degree of skill and proficiency with financial systems

  • Ability to effectively drive, manage and communicate change

  • Ability to foster a high degree of credibility with key stakeholders

  • High level of personal accountability

  • Experience with start-up and high growth businesses is highly valued in addition to experience with real estate/data centers.

  • Positive attitude and ability to work within a team environment;

  • Enjoys a hands-on environment and approach

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong analytic ability

  • Ability to be a champion and agent for change
