About the role

Zillow Group is looking for an experienced Manager, Revenue Accounting to join the Finance team! We are a fast-paced and rapidly-growing organization where you can make a difference to our business by using your experience in accounting, analysis, compliance and reporting.

The Manager, Revenue Accounting is responsible for managing the revenue close process for assigned products, including the detailed review of all journal entries and account reconciliations. This position requires developing a firm understanding of product lines with a special focus on billing processes and systems in order to ensure that downstream revenue reporting is accurate and compliant with ASC 606.  In this role, you will:

  • Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 Staff and Senior Accountants
  • Partner cross-functionally to understand new / current product lines; own the design and implementation of scalable operational accounting processes and systems to support the product lines
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure ongoing process compliance with SOX 404 and GAAP accounting policies
  • Oversee the monthly close process for assigned products, ensuring accurate and timely results are delivered for reporting in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 606
  • Manage revenue accounting operations and review of revenue, deferred revenue, journals, account reconciliations and balance fluctuations
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audit requests, review PBCs


About the team

We are a team of accountants who own revenue accounting functions for existing product lines and implementation of financial processes for new products and revenue streams.  We work directly with Engineering, Sales, Ad Operations and Financial Applications teams to design, implement, and test effective and scalable processes, internally and externally developed billing engines, and financialreports for various product lines.

 

Who you are

  • BA/BS with a concentration in Accounting
  • CPA, with strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 606
  • 6+ years’ experience in public accounting, mid-to-large sized tech, or high-growth company
  • Experience supervising direct reports
  • Experience managing and/or participating in a monthly close process, a plus
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and interact at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, and data driven organization
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
