Assists with the planning, organizing and facilitation (as assigned) of retail real estate activities for the Sales and Merchandising Division by aligning to key corporate initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of the retail real estate portfolio to ensure profitable sales growth
  • Plan, negotiate, recommend and present real estate leases and contracts approval by the Real Estate Committee in alignment with corporate real estate initiatives
  • Partner with Corporate and Field leaders to implement market based real estate strategies
  • Negotiate business terms for all retail leases; review and approve the implementation of real estate contracts that support market development initiatives
  • Work closely with the Manager of New Stores and Facilities, Store Construction, Sales Operations and Field Leadership to assure timely store openings as well as other key store activities
  • Monitor and communicate key lease action dates and recommend actions for lease renewals, kickouts and store closes that aligned with defined market development initiatives, complete market analysis work as necessary
  • Works closely with internal real estate counsel to assure leases are completed on a timely basis
  • Maintain strong relationship with developers and the shopping center community in general; ability to manage large number of vendor relationships
  • Attend annual real estate conventions
  • All other duties as assigned by the VP of Real Estate and Construction

Qualifications

Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as key contact for a retailer or landlord/developer both enclosed mall and non-mall environments, or related experience
  • Ability to participate in the management of a largest degree of corporate liability - lease commitments include roughly $300 million in corporate liability
  • S., Real Estate or Business discipline
  • Affiliation with Real Estate Associations preferred
