General Description

The selected candidate will lead technical activities for market and field issue analysis to improve overall product quality and customer satisfaction. Analysis of feedback from market is very crucial in maintaining position as a leader in the smartphone market. The successful candidate will be responsible for all required communication with customers, R&D teams, UI/UX teams, QA groups, marketing, and product planning to resolve issues as quickly as possible and implement applicable fixes for market issues with timely manner. Constantly strive to help improve current or new operating process for field issues by enhancing technical level and skills of all team members. • In charge of communications with client carriers’ marketing and engineering, and customer support personnel for post-launch market issues. • Develop efficient and effective operating process regarding Post launch issues and improve market issues and complaints. • Effectively and successfully collaborate with internal R&D groups and Carriers finding cause and reason of issues and also develop solutions to minimize the field market issues. • Interfaces proactively and effectively with corporate Korean manufacturing engineering teams, US support team and other lab members, SEA, various client carriers and infrastructure companies’ engineering personnel. • Make a technical report based on the package of test data, revision history, and specification to resolve and close the market issues as quickly as possible. • Create new field test case and plan in accordance with market issues, new technology, and carrier requirements.


Necessary Skills / Attributes

• Top- notch engineer having a lot of experience and knowledge in mobile HW/SW handset development • Having a great wealth of mobile technology and requirements between R&D and US carriers • Experience of leading a successful collaboration among multi-site, cross functional teams • Deep understanding of mobile technology. • Over 10+ years of relevant experience in Mobile technology. • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering/Computer engineering or a similar technical degree. • Deep knowledge of HW Function and block diagram, SW operating configuration. • Bilingual ability (English and Korean) is a plus • Develops and maintains excellent proactive, working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company. • Plans, organizes and prioritizes multiple engineering support assignments and projects as directed by the manager of the group and/or other departmental leaders. • Reads, interprets and acts on proper understanding of technical documents, engineering test materials and contracts or related documents based on corporate legal and customer applications, engineering standards and philosophy. • Good knowledge about mobile development process and carrier approval process. • Deep knowledge of HW function and block diagram • Good understanding of SW configuration management process • Works independently and in a team environment, in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames. Tasks are guided by clearly defined objectives and functional direction with an implied knowledge of task alternatives and decision making experience to guide the incumbent.

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions:

• Work is generally performed in a shop laboratory environment. • Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical and include: time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and product management Stress. • Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids (such as safety equipment) which may be representative and commonly associated with laboratory product application test work. These include: Field test equipment, test devices; cables, etc • Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule. • Minimal travel to customer or SEA sites of 10 percent of time or less.
