Your tasks and responsibilities

Bayer U.S. LLC’s Kansas City, MO, office seeks a Manager Project Excellence to provide leadership and management of the Project Excellence function for E&T Americas.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Manager Project Excellence, are to: 

  • aligning Project Execution in the Americas with Corporate Engineering & Technology; 

  • ensuring project execution excellence and state of the art know how in project management & execution; 

  • driving standardization and best practices in project management; 

  • ensuring quality of project management and execution; 

  • developing and managing unit, ensuring operational alignment with E&T strategy and customers; 

  • driving Improvement and optimization of project management competences.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

  • master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering plus six (6) years of experience in a related position

  • the execution of both small (<$5 million USD) and large capital projects (>$10 Million USD), including Front End Loading (Basic Engineering), detail design, procurement strategy/contract types, construction, commissioning and start-up of plant, etc.; 

  • engineering design, process controls, and equipment specifications;

  • working closely with the business and manufacturing groups to determine the critical needs for the manufacturing sites and ensure efficient project planning and execution; 

  • plant & process safety, process hazard analysis, and project construction safety; 

  • engineering design, process controls, and equipment specifications; 

  • working with Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) firms on large capital projects; and 

  • project experience within the Pharma and/or Crop Science industries.
  • Must have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally to various unanticipated employer, client, and otherlocations up to 50%.
