Job Description
CDM Smith is seeking a Project Accounting Manager, with strong experience of Oracle Payroll and OTL working in an engineering and/or professional services industry, to join our Corporate Accounting and Payroll Team. This individual will assist the Senior Manager of Financial Operations with Oracle Payroll and Project job costing activities to ensure that employee labor costs are properly authorized and accounted for and the individual will interface with our project accounting and payroll teams globally.
The Manager will also develop and maintain project accounting policies/procedures and ensure they are kept current, documented, and followed.
• Subject matter expert for all global Oracle Payroll Processes and Oracle Projects labor costing activities for all CDM Smith entities within the United States.
• Manage the Oracle Time and Labor system and system enabled timekeeping validations which enforce company policies and state and federal labor laws, such as overtime compensation.
• Manages the weekly, monthly, and annual Oracle Payroll activities and delivers Oracle generated Payroll files to the Operational Payroll Manager to be processed within the ADP system.
• Manages the reconciliation of the Oracle Payroll Expense and Oracle Project Recovery account and liaise with the general ledger team in reconciling and addressing any variances between the accounts.
• Coordinates any re-costing activities necessary for retroactive labor cost rate and costing methodology changes.
• Mentor a staff of three, which includes one lead payroll specialist that assists in all Oracle related activities, and two staff in India that perform various Oracle related tasks and activities related to Oracle Time and Labor and Oracle Payroll.
• Produce month end labor accrual entries for all US Payroll Companies.
• Take part in system testing for any Oracle System improvements or integrations between Oracle and the other key systems that CDM Smith utilizes.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to CDM Smith Timecard policies, including producing outstanding timecard aging reports for upper management.
• Performs other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree.
• 8years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Preferred Qualifications
• Engineering or professional services industry experience highly preferred.
• Highly preferred experience with HRM/ERP/Payroll System Implementation and Integration.
• Job costing and project accounting experience.
• Experience with Balance Sheet account reconciliations a plus.

Skills and Abilities
• Experience with Oracle Payroll and Oracle Time and Labor, Oracle Projects, and system conversion.
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise fashion and to interact with all levels of staff as well as outside clients and vendors.
• Requires ability to oversee concurrent complex projects involving detail coordination with many levels of staff.
• Expert knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Excel and other related Microsoft office products.
• Skilled ERP and HRM user and administrator.
