You will own and drive the products in our satellite communications VSAT networking sector including planning, budgeting, roadmaps, go lives, and continuous development. Working with product marketing, software and hardware development teams, you will realize and continuously improve overall solutions and offerings in this sector. You will work with the Senior Vice President of Product Management, Marcom, Engineering, Market Vertical Managers, as well as Sales and Sales Engineering in a cross functional environment.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President Product Management you are responsible for managing and directing the organization toward its primary marketing and technological objectives, based on long-term product and profitability goals by performing the following duties.

Competitive assessment and positioning within the Satellite VSAT community

Support and identify value drivers, strategic priorities, new adjacent and disruptive offerings that can directly or indirectly impact the company’s overall strategic position

Assessing and tracking customer requirements and the prioritization of feature development based on those inputs

Drive roadmap, strategy and requirements management processes to drive the right priorities for the product while properly documenting market and product requirements

Develop and communicate product, technology development and other roadmaps internally and externally

Support the development and ongoing updates to marketing materials and back office systems support for pricing and order entry guides

Conduct sales calls and deliver product updates and positioning for your offerings, including sales webinars customer and industry presentations and panel discussions to define needs and align offering

Establishes current and long-range objectives, plans, capabilities and positioning

Define business case for new products, solutions, and enhancements

Define baseline product feature set required to access market or expand sales

Define target pricing, discounting, and packaging for base line and optional features.

Work closely with engineering to define estimated cost, NRE cost and timeline for deliverables

Make decisions to proceed or pass on development of products, enhancements, and solutions based on the above criteria

Prioritize developments within and across product lines

Provide engineering support through product definition and roll out

7+ Years as Product Manager or Systems Engineer with Satellite VSAT Network Ground Segment

Employment with VSAT providers such as Gilat, iDirect, Newtec NDSatCom or similar a plus

Experience with agile & product engineering methodologies

Experience discussing highly technical requirements or high level ideas and drive to technical requirements while working with across all business unit leaders (Ops, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, etc.)

Experience in B2B customer engagement management directly and through contact channels

An experienced leader in the satellite communications ground equipment industry

A visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgement, and strong operational focus.

Engineering degree preferably with MBA or equivalent and 7+ years related experience.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to prepare speeches and articles for publication that confirm to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or the Board.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
