Position overview:

The Product Marketing Manager assumes full responsibility for growing the sales and profitability of a specific category of products in the Metagenics product line. The Product Marketing Manager is the leader in creating, coordinating and executing the strategies and tactics for product development, marketing and sales of the products in the Category. This position is broad in its scope, in that it directs and coordinates the market research, market analysis, planning, scheduling, budgeting, product development, advertising, sales support, PR and communications activities for the product line.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Develop the strategy for the product line in support of the corporate strategic objectives and marketing strategy
  • Develop the appropriate tactical plans necessary to execute the product line strategy
  • Assume total responsibility for the management of the category or product line, including managing market research, marketing analysis, planning, positioning, budgeting, product development, collateral development, advertising, PR, product training and the contribution margin for the product line
  • Articulate throughout the organization the mission, strategy and purpose of the products and to gather the resources and the necessary support to execute the tactical plans for the product group
  • Conduct market research on the product group to determine trends, opportunities, create product positioning and pricing, create forecasts, understand the life cycle of the products in the category and develop marketing programs
  • Work with the sales force to develop competitive product analysis, materials, strategies and marketing programs to help combat the competition
  • Plan, measure and manage the overall advertising, PR, communications and collateral literature production for the product line
  • Manage and control the profitability of each product and the aggregate profitability of the products, meeting the profit targets set by Senior Leadership
  • Assume the responsibility for the creation of new products in the product line, to stay ahead of the competition and provide the customer with the best in health care nutrition
  • Coordinate with R&D and to offer marketing guidance for product development and product improvements for the products in the group
  • Execute the marketing plans efficiently; on time and coordinated with new product development, so as to optimize sales of all products and services

What you'll need:

Experience / Training / Education

  • MBA in Marketing or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 7 years previous product management marketing experience, preferably involving health and wellness products
  • Project management
  • Understanding of product development process
  • Understanding of positioning and pricing
  • Experience with graphic design, copy writing, advertising, PR, communication, planning and literature production
  • Training or experience in managing profit centers and budgets
  • Highly organized
