Job Description
The Rewards Marketing department develops new strategies for our card rewards programs to maximize the value to our consumer and enhance Discovers leadership position in the market. The team looks to deliver a best-in-class experience to our customers across all channels (Account Center, Email, Mobile, and Phone) and is a key driver in generating incremental sales for the company. The Rewards Strategy team is looking for a take-charge, consumer-centric individual who can lead end-to-end Rewards strategy across both earn and redeem programs through the lenses of integrated creative, media, and customer experience. The position will be responsible for driving results for 5% Cashback Bonus – Discovers flagship rewards program, Cashback Match, and all redemption options to ensure we meet both engagement and sales goals. He/she will be responsible for managing the core creative agency relationship to develop strong integrated creative campaigns, as well as work with cross-functional team members within e-business and Analytics to execute effective media and test plans. This individual will partner very closely with two other team members in charge of creative and campaign execution and manage an agile marketing team to champion process efficiencies and increase speed to market of various campaigns. To succeed in this role, you should have a unique blend of creative and analytical mindset, a keen eye for detail, the ability to think strategically about how each of the programs fit into the broader Discover strategy and prioritize initiatives for an engaged, cross-functional agile marketing team. This position is part of a team that is located in downtown Chicago, IL, for the majority of the work week.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategy development:
    • Establish the purpose of rewards and define how we engage cardmembers across each of the various earn and redeem programs
    • Responsible for all business reporting and maintaining program scorecard engagement metrics
    • Build the narrative for presentations to senior leadership and work closely with cross-functional partners
  • Creative and media integration:
    • Collaborate with project managers on developing integrated rewards communications journey targeted to cardmembers and rooted in consumer insights
    • Manage creative agency relationship and partner with e-business to hone media strategy, drive innovation in new channels, and develop testing pla
    • Lead cross-functional agilemarketing team:
    • Define a roadmap of strategic improvements across 5%, Match, and redemption journeys
    • Make strategic priority calls and trade-offs within the agile team based on balancing resources and business needs
  • Ad-hoc projects as required by the team
  • Promotes a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes

Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in marketing or related field
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prior product marketingexperience crafting integrated go-to-market communications plans, creative briefs, managing the creative process, channel optimization, reporting on results and KPIs
  • Consumer-centric mindset and strong marketing gut
  • Strong business leadership with clear track record of delivering superior results
  • Passionate about the customer experience, including the functional and technology components of the experience, how the experience will be delivered and supported, and how to promote awareness of the experience
  • Ability to lead complex projects from concept to delivery; comfort with the Agile development process
  • Ability to drive cross functional collaboration across a large group, problem solving, decision making
  • Strong understanding of digital capabilities and media buying/planning
  • Executive presence and maturity

Preferred Requirements:

  • 8+ years of work experience in marketing or related field
  • MBA
