Industrial Manufacturing Company is looking for:

POSITION: Manager, Plant Quality

SALARY: $90-100K + Bonus

LOCATION: Blue Island IL 60406 Area (South of Chicago)

DEGREE: Preferred

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years plant quality management including laboratory experience dealing with Wet Chemistry, pH monitoring, viscometer, and refractometer experience


The Manager is responsible for the company quality programs including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Compliance within the site. Programs include, but are not limited to: Incoming Material Acceptance, Policies and Procedures, Document Control and Records Management, Finished Product Testing and Lab Testing, CAPA, Auditing, Management Review, Quality Training, and Continuous Improvement through Data Analysis and Tracking/Trending.

Duties and Day-to-Day Responsibilities, but not limited to the following:

  • Develop, define, and direct the strategic vision for quality within the organization.
  • Lead and direct all regulatory activities related to quality to protect product integrity. This includes, but is not limited to: ISO. Enforce adherence to requirements and advise on needed actions.
  • Provide technical expertise as it relates to creating standards regarding (physical and chemistry).
  • Oversee support to site audits and certifications by regulatory agencies, customers, and third-party groups.
  • Develop strategies and programs for the improvement of productivity and efficiencies through the use of leansix sigma methodologies. Present and interpret data for management and staff.
  • Responsible for the Quality department budget.

Minimum Training, Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelors of Science degree (preferred but not required) with at 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. A minimum of 2 years direct experience managing quality systems and conducting QA oversight activities. A minimum of five years leading, developing, and coaching exempt and non-exempt employees..
