This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and President of the Medical Group and is responsible for researching and resolving physician compensation issues.
The Manager works directly with Director of Operations and Legal to model physician contract proposals.
The Physician Compensation Manager completes analyses, generates data, calculates physician performance relative to defined objectives and benchmarks, and calculates corresponding compensation and bonuses.
The Manager produces performance reports and financial statements and responds to physician inquiries.
The Manager recommends program and system solutions to address the changing needs of the medical group based on input and guidance from the Medical Group Leadership Team.
In addition, the incumbent is responsible for conducting research on legal and regulatory requirements, developing The Medical Group's policies and procedures related to compensation and overall compliance.
The Manager will provide evidence-based solutions that identify all applicable statutes, rules and regulations and relevant existing policies and procedures within the HealthCare System and the Physician Services.
Maintains relationships with physician office staff, coding and reimbursement personnel and other various departments to provide oversight and education on policies and regulations as deemed necessary by the executive team.
The incumbent will collaborate with the HealthCare System Corporate Integrity, Human Resources, Quality Management, Accounting, Payroll, Legal Services and other shared resources to ensure that objectives are incorporated into policy updates affecting employees.
-Bachelor's Degree required. MBA or MHA preferred.
-Must have at least three (3) years current experience in physician compensation management and/or financial management in healthcare environment.
-Experience in medical group/physician compensation modeling.
-Please note being a Practice Administrator is not sufficient experience. The person must have contract development and MD compensation management experience.
-Requires a strong, assertive personality that has demonstrated a history of working effectively with physicians.
-This is a highly visible position in the organization.
The pay depends on experience but the range is 83K-110K. They have an excellent benefit package and will help with relocation.
