Job Description

SUMMARY:


Neuro/Neurosurgery is a 30 bed unit that focuses on caring for patients with neurological disorders, and patients that have had brain or spinal surgeries. Additionally, the unit houses three Epilepsy monitoring rooms. Our unit has a nine-bed intensive observation area that focuses on caring for higher acuity neurological patients such as CVA or post TPA patients. We have 12 Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurses (CNRN) on staff and highly encourage this specialty certification.


The Manager manages a nursing unit or nursing specialty function such as Bed Control or Restorative Services.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Manages staff; interviews, hires and trains; evaluates employee performance; deals with performance problems as appropriate; delegates work assignments effectively.


Assists in managing department budget.
