PRIMARY FUNCTION/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION
Plan, implement and manage a patient advocacy / patient relations program designed to enhance satisfaction and the quality of patient services. Coordinate with other departments to provide maximum level of services. Advocate services include oversight of Interpreting Services.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in health-related field
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years’ experience in a health care setting should include direct experience in complaint / conflict management, grief intervention and consumer affairs. Previous experience in management and supervision in a healthcare setting is preferred.
SKILLS: Excellent communication and written skills required. Basic Microsoft office skills essential. Competency with Excel and Powerpoint a plus.
KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with TJC (Joint Commission) and CMS standards related to patient rights, advance directives, ethics, and performance improvement is required for managing a patient relations program.
