Overview

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will responsible for the development and implementation of organization-wide IT network, which includes corporate, datacenter, and flight.  You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of design, implementation, and advocacy of the adoption of common IT network technology platforms. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities

  • Leads development, documentation and maintenance of IT network policies, procedures, and standards across the IT department
  • Participates in, facilitates, and promotes information security awareness throughout the IT department
  • Monitors and routinely audits compliance to all IT network procedures and policies, and ensures consistency of internal controls
  • Monitors all IT corporate and datacenter networking to ensure uptime requirements are met, measured through service level agreements
  • Support and contribute when necessary to the company-wide information technology, security and incident response plans
  • Support and participate in the investigation of security incidents, identifying root, technical, contributing or organizational causes, and implement preventive actions where necessary
  • Provides oversight and ownership for all IT network and dependent systems
  • Assist in system and software architecture and design to ensure that IT platforms are appropriately scaled
  • Produce and maintain IT network best-practices for IT network staff, and oversee training
  • Perform quarterly performance appraisals of IT network staff
  • Participate in IT infrastructure steering committee to help guide strategic IT infrastructure needs
  • Execute project management and planning following the IT roadmap created by the IT infrastructure steering committee
  • Perform monthly budgetforecasting, expenditure management, variance analysis
  • Oversee the procurement of IT network hardware

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in network engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience as a practicing network engineer or manager of network engineers
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly competent in public speaking, and communicating to high-level executives on the topic of information technology
  • Must have demonstrated experience implementing IT infrastructure initiatives that require partnership with other IT areas and business units
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team of highly skilled IT professionals
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), able to review all export-controlled technical information

Desired

  • Deep technical knowledge in networking: Layers 1-3 of the OSI model
  • Experience in architecture and design of highly available campus / data center networks
  • Experience in firewalls and the respective controls they provide
