To help support the work of the University we have an immediate opening for a Manager of Employer Relations. The Manager of Employer Relations reports to the Director of Career Development.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive plan related to employer relations with the highest potential to provide professional mentorship to Chatham University undergraduate and graduate students and to hire students for internship and career opportunities. A Chatham education focuses on academic excellence, personal wellness and professional development. The staff member will contribute to long-term planning, project management and program development in a fast paced student oriented operation. Success in this position is dependent on being energetic, highly motivated and results-oriented in building and maintaining strong connections with employers, administrators, faculty, and staff as well as external and internal partners. At some points in the year, evening and weekend hours are necessary. Career Development reports through the Division of Student Affairs and staff must be prepared to contribute to the overall mission of Student Affairs. Candidates must feel comfortable working in an evolving organizational framework with shifting responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop goals and strategies for developing a comprehensive employer services program.
· Enhance the office’s communication strategies to external partners and employers by provide accurate and up-to-date information about the advantages of hiring a Chatham student and the opportunities to recruit on campus.
· Partner and collaborate with Student Affairs and other campus departments to coordinate major career-related events on campus.
· Oversee employer contact database utilizing Handshake, LinkedIn and other data sources.
· Other duties as assigned.
Master’s in Counseling Psychology, Education, Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Human Resources or related field required and at least five years of experience in the field of career development or student affairs in higher education. A demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to perform in multicultural settings. A commitment to educating students and providing a world-class collegiate experience and the ability to travel within the region on a regular (almost daily) basis and occasional state-wide or national travel.
