Position Summary
Responsible for the coordination and alignment of key category initiatives in the development of promotional plans based on consumer centric strategies.


Minimum Requirements
Degrees
Bachelor's Degree (Required) Business Administration
Marketing, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Experience
Five years Category Management experience.
Product Line experience in supermarket retail and wholesale environment preferred.
Supervisory Experience
TWO (2) YEARS

Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Manages a team of Merchandise Planners.
Works directly with the CSMs in planning, developing and coordinating the annual, quarterly and weekly promotion ad plans. Also supports CSMs in the solution planning process.
Accountable for achieving vendor income budgets for their team of Merchandiser Planners.
Explore opportunities for cross category and cross department promotion to support focus on merchandising solutions designed to enhance the customer experience.
Coordinates Key Vendor and Special Event promotional activity.
Responsible for coordinating and executing promotional planning for specific assigned categoriesPrimary interface for communicating the promotional plan in weekly meeting.
Proof ads to ensure that products and prices in final ad are in line with negotiated contract terms.
Communicates all ad changes to CSMs and Director on all promotional activity revisions.
Coordinate the CSMs on display requirements and ensure alignment with negotiated ad plans and contract terms.
Ensure proper communication to all audiences regarding new deals and/or changes to ensure that deals supporting each promotional activity is timely and accurate.
Work with the Analyst team on pre-ad forecast to ensure that the ad will produce the financial objectives.
Foster an environment that encourages ?solution thinking?, innovation and ideas from others as a means to grow the business. Responsible to implement training processes, negotiate contracts and ensure proper execution of contract terms. Represent the Merchandising department as the C-3/Aptaris business owner. Provide for promotional plans that are balanced and designed to engage consumers, drives sales for customers, and guarantee market competitiveness. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes.
Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals. Develop and monitor department budget as required. Provide Weekly/Period/QRLY Recaps of promotional activity of our promotional events, vehicles and overall impact to the business. Responsible for developing promo plans and events that enables the center store business to achieve their financial metrics. Responsible to work with each CSM team and Support teams to ensure the corporate display and Pre-sell plans are communicated in retail. Responsible for developing and mentoring the business planners (direct reports) to assist in their personal and professional growth.
