The Media Relations Manager will help oversee communications with members of the media, including drafting press releases, creating press kits, responding to inbound inquiries and proactively pitching targeted reporters. The position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Corporate Communications and will collaborate regularly with senior leaders and spokespeople, the Brand Marketing team, Investor Relations team, and partners and agencies. Ideal candidate is a highly motivated, experienced writer and communicator who has a passion for media relations. Experience communicating on behalf of a public company and/or financial institution and experience working with PR agencies are a plus.
Write, edit and develop external communication materials including press releases, articles, spokesperson talking points and press kits designed to raise awareness and promote a favorable perception of the company’s reputation with external audiences including customers, stakeholders and media.
Draft messaging and meeting/interview prep materials for key executives.
Develop relationships with national and regional media contacts.
Serves as a back-up media relations spokesperson for the company.
Provides communication advice and counsel to internal clients regarding critical business issues and opportunities that require strategic communications solutions.
Monitor media coverage across trade, business and consumer outlets
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 to 7 years of experience in media relations, corporate public relations, or related experience.
