The Manager, Material Ops & Inventory Control is a subject matter expert (SME) of all operational activities relating to the supply chain that directly support the department and the organization.   Utilizing this expertise, this leadership position establishes cross departmental policy with the Sr Manager, Materials Mgmt.  The manager documents and trains procedures, ensures compliance, implements efficiencies, initiates global cost reduction programs and performs required inventory control activities.   In addition, the manager assists with various duties associated with measuring Operational Analytics (OA) with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and maintaining a high service level within all supply chain work groups:  Material Services, which includes AOG, Material Operations (e.g. Material Planning & Inventory Control), Material Services (e.g. Stores) and Technical Purchasing, which includes Repair and Warranty.

Essential Functions: 

  • Own overall management of the Requisition Table in the GMM and FMIS
  • Document cross-functional policies and procedures by maintaining strict internal controls and compliance for departmental and individual contributor accountability
  • Supervise, define and document all processes within department and ensure compliance
  • Supervise development of thorough training for systems and departmental policies and procedures
  • Interface with various departments, subject matter experts, Operational Analytics with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and drive efficiencies measured with KPI’s
  • Develop and measure Operational Analytics with Key Performance Indicators (i.e. performance metrics) for the department and Technical Operations department
  • Analyze, develop and implement supply chain efficiency initiatives
  • Analyze inventory levels and maintain completed integrity and minimum service levels
  • Ensure compliance of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
  • Assist with purchasing, planning and repair activity as needed
  • Recommend and implement technology solutions to streamline supply chain operation
  • Maintain and assist in automating KPI dashboard depicting Key Performance Indicators and controls

Other Functions: 

  • All other duties as reasonably requested by the Sr Manager, Materials Mgmt

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration;  MBA preferred
  • Active participation in the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) and/or APICS preferred
  • Certified Purchasing Manager Designation (CPM) preferred
  • 5 – 7 years of procurement experience in aerospace
  • 2 – 5 years of direct supervisory experience
  • Previous airline / aviation experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong mathematical, analytical and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-departmental interaction of Frontier asset control
  • Acute knowledge of system and cross-departmental functions
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, especially with data exports to Access & Excel
  • Ability to read vendor and company technical manuals (i.e. engineering orders, list price and illustrated parts catalogs)
  • Must be a proactive self-starter
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive and multi-faceted projects
  • Excellent leadership skills
