This position isresponsible for the management of Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance functions for the Rancho Dominguez CA facility. Oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency; ensures the engineering team andother departments work together cohesively and isresponsible for the development and implementation of technical solutions to aid in the manufacturing process; leads and directs the work of assigned manufacturing engineers and maintenance personnel. This position is centered on the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes including reliability of equipment and reduction of utility expense. Also, the employee will be establishing predictable and preventive maintenance plans that appropriately and economically optimize the life of the equipment. Development and implementation of capitalinvestment projects on time within thebudget.

What we offer

  • Manage Manufacturing Engineering team to provide technical support for manufacturing daily – responsible for quality, throughput, manufacturing efficiency and process documentation
  • Manage customer complaints and NCMRs to provide containment actions, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  • Responsible for overall quality of production lines
  • Complete internal and external corrective actions as required
  • Provide support of PPAP documentation related to processes in defined area of responsibility
  • Define and implement continuous improvement through process optimization and controls
  • Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnel
  • Work closely with PD&E (Product Development and Engineering), Safety, Quality and Maintenance personnel to scale up and commercialize new products
  • Ensure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and maintained at all times
  • Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiency
  • Ensure vendors/subcontractors are manufacturing products according to product specifications
  • Manage change control process
  • Analyzes operating procedures and equipment and machinery functions to reduce processing time and cost
  • Directs the design of equipment to control movement, storage, and packaging of raw material, intermediate and finish goods’
  • Manages the design and planning of measurement and control systems for manufacturing processes based on data collected in each production line
  • Process review and optimization. Determines most effective arrangement of unit operations, exercising judgment to balance between process requirements, economic evaluation, operator effectiveness.

Who we are looking for

  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering Equivalents
  • Min. 5 years supervisory experience within the Chemical Manufacturing Industry
  • Background in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably SAP
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated preventive/predictive maintenance techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • PC literacy essential • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Certifications and licenses — 6 sigma Black Beltpreferred, PMP certification preferred
