The Information Technology Product Delivery – Product Solutions Team is looking for a Senior IT Vertical Manager with experience of Asset Based Lending, Credit Approval, Credit Analysis, Deposit, Investments, Opinions DB, Private Banking and Wealth Management products. The Senior IT Vertical Manager will be responsible for overall delivery of solutions and software aspects including research, design, technology insertion, development, testing, deployment and sustainment. The role will be focusing on developing the solutions working closely with partner resources and onsite/offshore team members. The role also is responsible to manage a group of resources comprising of developers and test engineers, guide the teams in the development and delivery of Commercial and Consumer Deposit, Loan, Investment and Wealth Management solutions/projects and initiatives being used by our commercial and private banking teams. You will work closely with senior management across the organization to plan, create, access balance and communicate the execution of the IT portfolio. The IT Vertical Manager must be highly proficient at navigating the complexities of the organizational decision making hierarchy and knowledgeable in the business areas reflected in their portfolio. Your portfolio will consist of multiple portfolios/programs/projects and will require you to weigh many different initiatives – sometimes with widely diverse objectives – against the overall strategic direction of the organization. Conduct functional business reviews with stakeholders, analyze issues and present and recommend business solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs. The candidate will possess excellent leadership and communications skills, have a proven track record of delivering results, and have exceptional skills both as a team leader and project participant. The IT Vertical Manager partners with internal IT business leaders, colleagues, vendors and other stakeholders to identify information and process requirements, gaps in existing capabilities and defines opportunities to build systems based on current and future application platforms that improve the business processes and accelerate critical business strategies. Primary Responsibilities: Ensures program and project management methodologies, control framework practices, resource and quality management practices and organizational change management techniques are applied, as appropriate, to efforts under the portfolio. Ensure adherence to and support of compliance, audit and risk controls for technology solutions within IT Delivery. Help to build and operate an optimal IT delivery and support division with the right resources, processes and tools. Identify and implement areas of improvement in collaboration with Enterprise Project Manager Office, peers and management. Manage work activities related to the assigned systems which can include Business Case development, major incidents communications, maintaining road maps, system health assessments and ensuring disaster recovery plans are current. Direct the setup of new initiatives in the portfolio, defining a schedule of regular reviews, a set of performance parameters, and a series of variance conditions – in the form of alarms and alerts – that call attention to potential or actual issues and challenges that will trigger active intervention and potential action and decision taking. Coordinate recruitment or assignment of project resources and direct reports. Interact with vendors and vendor management office to maintain healthy partnerships; assists with negotiating and finalizing Request for Proposals, Statement of Work and other contracts. Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle. Plan team resource needs; allocate, supervise and review work. Adapt and apply the organizational governance policies and practices. Lead the effort in creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs. Where required:

  • Assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority to project resources and direct reports.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project resources and direct reports to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance to IT Control Framework and project documentation is archived for future reference as per standards.
  • Work closely with IT Leadership and business-unit heads to understand enterprise priorities with the goal of defining, planning, building and assessing the IT investment.
  • Have a strategic role in overseeing, managing and leveraging IT investments from defining and targeting the investment mix, to planning the portfolio structure and communicating the portfolio plan, tracking and measuring results.
  • Analyze portfolio performance and recommend changes in investment mix to achieve organizational goals.
  • Utilize reporting tools to monitor vertical team activities, and regularly brief IT and business management on performance.
  • Take action when initiatives cross variance boundaries.
  • Review and recommend sourcing strategies for projects/programs/changes and works with business-unit and IT Line Management to ensure the distribution of IT resources are aligned to priorities and enterprise goals.
  • Anticipate and prepares for future business.
  • Ensure program and project management methodologies, control framework practices, resource and quality management practices and organizational change management techniques are applied, as appropriate, to efforts under the vertical.
  • Have primary responsibility for leading, managing and developing a team of Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Tech Leads and Application Support.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching and line management to their team, building a cadre of strong IT professionals.
