Manager, IT SAP Financial Applications

Job Summary

Manages the daily operations and team responsible for global SAP Financial team; manages relationships with Application Maintenance Services (AMS) partner to support business change requests and 7x24 operations; gathers and analyzes data and reports that pertain to the overall operation of the business unit and completes reports summarizing activities and trends; assists in strategic and tactical operational plans to ensure achievement of company and departmental goals; performs independent review of problem situations; develops solutions and implements actions to resolve problems and ensure functional satisfaction; reviews processes and procedures to streamline activities to enhance service turnaround time, productivity, and quality; coordinates overall workflow of the business unit and ensures that workflow processes facilitate effective and efficient use of corporate resources and enhance customer satisfaction.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Determines scope of Financial SAP system by consulting with financial executives and other management to ascertain organizational needs for financial related information; functions as liaison with information technology and SAP

Participates in business strategic planning and decision-making at the division level and may be involved to some extent in visionary strategic planning and decision-making for the organization

Involved in business planning for multiple, medium to large business units/divisions on a global basis; directs three or more unrelated, four or more related department functions, or multiple functions in highly functional and strategic areas

Oversees services provided to multiple internal and external global customers; focuses on one or more business segments of moderate to high complexity

Directs research and innovation across integrated teams to include business and technology resources

Communicates frequently with global division heads, providing feedback and recommendations and interacts with executive management, providing strategic recommendations

Directs the development and implementation of integrated IT initiatives to support business strategies

Provides design recommendations for integrated solutions including development approach, solution integration and platform utilization

Provides business leadership and vision, and leads the development of standards and decisions regarding changes to global systems/applications

Provides enabling designs that make it easier for customers and suppliers to do business with the enterprise as well as increase revenue and profitability

Allocates resources (budget and people) and directs the development and delivery of training for internal and external IT users to ensure productive use of existing and new systems

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree and six years of relevant technical and business experience (may require in-depth knowledge of one or more industry) or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Three years of managerial experience in a complex business environment involving multiple business issues

Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and the flexibility to deal with people at a variety of levels (internally and externally)

Deep SAP functional application experience, with a focus on Financial, Budget/Planning/Consolidation, and Human Resource modules

Demonstrated ability to launch and deliver multiple IT projects on time and within budget

Certified Project Management Professional or equivalent professional training (preferred)
