SUMMARY
The Manager, Investor Relations, based at our corporate headquarters, will help create, plan, and execute The J.M. Smucker Co.’s investor relations program. This individual will serve as a key resource for the Company’s executive team in preparation for quarterly earnings releases and investor conferences. This individual will help support and improve our external messaging through conducting research on industry, peer group, and company-specific issues/trends. The position will report to the Vice President, Investor Relations, and serve as a strong business partner and resource for several internal departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development of senior management talking points and scripts for quarterly earnings conference calls and investor conferences and preparation of answers to anticipated questions during investor events.
- Author and manage the editorial process for all press releases related to quarterly earnings and investor conferences
- Manage the development and execution of presentation content for all investor events
- Monitor, analyze, and report out on macro insights and industry peer trends
- Report on key investor metrics to senior management and other internal constituents
- Oversee the planning calendar and logistics for all quarterly earnings releases and investor conferences
- Track and analyze company operational and valuation performance versus industry peers
- Lead investor outreach program through identifying potential shareholders, tracking meetings, and analyzing return
- Lead improvement opportunities and IR best practices to enhance existing processes
- Partner with communications team to maintain the Investor Relations section of the corporate website
- Assist in financial related initiatives and ad hoc projects as needed
- Supervise analytical work prepared by staff
SELECTION CRITERIA
Education
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Finance, Accounting, or post graduate degree with business or finance focus is preferred
Experience
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, accounting, investor relations, FP&A, equity research, capital markets, or communications with a finance focus is required (external candidates are required to have a minimum of 4 years of experience specifically in investor relations, equity research, capital markets, or communications with a finance focus)
- CPG industry or large public company process knowledge and experience is preferred
Other
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and basic PowerPoint skills are a must
- Proficient in financial systems and other databases
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)

- Ability to work with C-level executives, senior leadership, and external business partners
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities with a sense of urgency and attention to details

- Minimal travel required for conferences and investor meetings (<5%)
