JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION:
Responsible for the day-to-day management, operation and accountability for Baton Rouge General Inpatient pharmacies. Makes decisions, within guidelines, that could seriously affect the division, department and/or GHS System’s financial and performance objectives and strategic results. Assists in developing and monitoring of pharmacy budgets.
The inpatient pharmacy manager will be responsible for pharmacy innovation and technology. The inpatient manager will work closely with all departments in the hospital requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills..
Ensures that all regulatory standards are followed on a daily basis, including but not limited to: The Joint Commission, USP 795, USP 797, and USP 800.
The IP pharmacy manager will develop programs to help pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to grow in their careers. The inpatient manager will also ensure that pharmacy services follow the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
Direct reports include supervisors, pharmacists, chief technician and oversight of pharmacy technicians. Manger will have responsibilities including: performance reviews, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations. Performs jobfor the age population served, as defined in the department’s scope of service.
3 years hospital experience required; supervisory experience preferred
BS Pharmacy; PharmD preferred
