This role is critical for delivering breakthrough technology projects that align w/ business needs.

This manager will work closely with business partners to identify and execute new opportunities.

The role also requires leveraging and leading external innovation projects.

As a manager in R&D, the role also involves developing talent through coaching and mentoring.

  • Create innovative products in line with business strategy and goals. Develop new technical concepts for efficacious products that delight the consumer.

  • Provide technical judgement that helps guide business decisions.

  • Manage relationships and form effective collaborations with external organizations to maximize new product development ideas.

  • Manage priorities, delegate assignments to team members, and ensure appropriate resourcing is in place to deliver projects.

  • Provide development opportunities for team members through coaching and mentoring.

  • Develop goals and execute performance reviews for team members.

  • Counsel management and technical experts on consumer, market, organizational trends and developments.

  • Work with Legal to file patents and disclosures on new technologies and breakthrough ideas.

  • Keep abreast on what is going on in other industries to create new ideas to maintain competitive advantage for the company.

Additional Experience/Skills:

  • Ph.D. in physical/material sciences preferred, plus 5 years of industrialexperience.

  • Ability to seek out new external technologies and translate to relevant products.

  • Ability to monitor global market and have vision about future of cosmetics and emerging innovations that will disrupt the industry

  • Ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear focused messages and be able to present to scientists and non-technical colleagues.

  • Excellent communication skills are required.

  • Ability to proactively identify and manage technical program challenges and provide alternative solutions.

  • Critical thinking, good problem solving and troubleshooting skills a must.


Advanced Degree - Physical/Material Sciences, Ph.D. preferred

10 years with masters and 5 years with Ph.D. degree.

Be ready to work in a diverse culture, team player, and have extensive experience in beauty care product technology.
